Installation

Very quick and smooth with no issues.

Graphics/Software

It’s has very different software from the rest which is very smooth. It’s also full of little gizmo’s and gadgets that you will either love or hate. I.e rabbit button.

Tournaments/Play

It has fairly loose players and has a high level of new players. One of the best things is its tournaments. Its holds several weekly tournaments just for women (whohey) and also hold several daily freerolls.

Traffic

It’s relatively new so traffic can be quiet. There were only 2737 players online when I was last playing but there was still action to be found.

In the beginning I was attracted to this site because of it’s 4 weekly ladies poker tournaments. I have now really taken to the site for loads of other reasons. For starters the lobby is easy to navigate. They cleverly put the games you have registered for and games playing in a table that is always visible. Their tournaments are varied.

  •  Freeroll tournament every 4 hours.
  •  Bounty tournaments. Every player you take out you not only get closer to your goal but you get paid off from it too. It roughly works out to taking two players out earns you your tournament buy in.
  • Shootout tournaments. This is where instead of being moved to balance the tables just as you get into the table, you play till the remaining player on the table goes through to the final table. How many players to go through to the final table from each table depends on the size of the tournament.
  •  It of course also runs the standard sit and go’s and guaranteed tournaments.

Once I got seated at my table I found a wealth of gizmos and gadgets and that sold me even further. On all poker sites you normally have the ability to take notes. Here you are also able to use the player tag feature ( right click players name) This lets you as well make notes but add an appropriate icon. Your even able to edit these icons to the ones you use the most. You can be notified when the players you have added to your contacts log in.

The chat has smiles’ that clap and smile and all sorts. I know this can be off putting for some and not all people are chat enthusiasts.

Next to players names are stars for regular players, accolades for winning tournaments. With this you can get a bit of a feel of your opponents.

One card show for moments where you only want to reveal one of your cards when you lay down or weren’t called. Rabbit chase, this is when you have won a poker hand, sometimes you are left wondering if they should have stayed in the hand against you. If your at your home game or in a card club sometimes a player will ask to see what cards would’ve come if they hadn’t folded, this is called Rabbit Hunting. While this is frowned upon in casinos and tournaments, in most informal games it is allowed.

At Carbon Poker they put this power in the hands of the winner. So if you win a hand unopposed, you can choose to rabbit and see what cards would have come. This can be a great way to show your opponents your bluff, and to show them they really had you beat. Of course you might just end up showing your opponent that they made the right call with the lay down. The only penalty is that you have to show the table what your hole cards were so use wisely.

Carbon Poker offers all the usual poker games expected at a poker site but they also offer Euchre. This makes Carbon Poker one of the few sites that offers Euchre online.

I know some of these things are just fancy side extras, but to me they all added up with the smooth graphics to make it a very enjoyable experience and I will be found as a regular on the site.
